The war of words between Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather has continued as the pair continue their talk over a fight. During his interview on ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon,’ Mayweather didn’t hold back, boasting that he could easily defeat Paul in the ring, even at the age of 48, replying “Easy, too easy,” to Fallon’s inquiry about a potential spar with the YouTuber turned boxer.
Not one to take a jab lying down, Paul fired back at Mayweather, mockingly referring to the boxing legend’s less-than-stellar performance against YouTuber Deji Olatunji saying, “You bum. Deji gave you a black eye in an event that had 4,000 people in it. Deji hahahah. I would knock you out in 2 rounds and you can’t sniff Mike Tyson’s toe.”
Paul then twisted the knife further by posting about his higher viewership numbers compared to Mayweather’s ventures, suggesting jealousy might be the root cause: “I would be mad as well… you spend billions and you can’t come close.”
Adding fuel to their fiery exchange, Mayweather threw shade at Paul’s elder sibling, Logan, referencing their 2021 exhibition bout at Hard Rock Stadium where no definitive winner emerged: “Me and Logan [Paul], we done an exhibition and that’s why he moved to WWE because he wanted to hold me the whole night,” said Mayweather. “I think WWE is good for Logan.”
Mayweather weighed in on the Paul vs. Tyson event, which Netflix claims became the most streamed global sporting event in history with 108 million viewers. The boxing legend downplayed the achievement, pointing out that the fight wasn’t a pay-per-view event. “I don’t really know where to go with this subject because if I say something, I’m gonna get backlash… no matter what I say, it’s always not right,” he expressed his frustration.

“Well basically, when you’re watching boxing for free, you can have… hundreds of millions of views, but when you’re watching Floyd Mayweather you have to pay. It’s real. I did pay-per-view numbers. Check the record.”
Mayweather, who holds the record for the top four most purchased boxing pay-per-views, according to Front Office Sports’ Rodney Reeves, remains uninterested in returning to the ring. Despite engaging in social media banter with Paul, he told Fallon, “No, not at all,” about making a comeback.
He confidently added, “I could sit on my couch every week and a wire come in every week – millions every week. That’s why I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, every week.”
